| This time we were not going to give up.
We even made our own weapons to fight this battle. Here is our first plan to
build a grappling hook. |
Our first attempt was from the top again.
While the Shane, Jim, and I tried to come from the top. Mike about swung his
arm off getting the grappling hook set. |
 |
 |
| Jim and I waited at the top while Shane came
from above and used the grappling hook to pull himself in. After Shane tried and
failed to pull Mike up with a 3 to 1 mechanical advantage system, I came down and ascended
a dropped line from Shane. |
We then made a 9 to 1 mechanical advantage
system and hauled up the rest of the crew and equipment. We then had lunch and took
a much needed rest. |
 |
 |
| As we finish lunch, its time to take some
quick pictures before we start exploring. |
Here I am perched on the right looking out
over the river and the tree that gave us so much trouble. |
 |
 |
| Here is the view of the opposite side of the
opening from where I was perched. |
Here is looking down at the bottom lip of
the cave from where I was perched. |
 |
 |
| The first small cave is off the the left,
but it didn't go very far. |
The main cave only went in about 50ft, then
split and continued only about 50ft further before the muddy guano got the better of us. |
 |
 |
| Alas, lets pack up and get out of here. |
Shane cleaning up before leaving. |
 |
 |
| Here is one trinket we found up there that
proves there must be an easier way into this cave. |
Here is Jim on decent. |
 |
 |
| Jim is now down. |
While looking for another cave at 3-creeks,
here is the core gang... Shane, Mike, and TJ. |
